There are certain activities offered by the park you stay at. They are morning walks and morning rides, afternoon rides, afternoon walks and night rides. There are also stays in bush for up to three days on offer.
Guns loaded, ready to face wilderness
The place where animals rub their sides and bellies to get rid of fleas and ticks
Rhino - a victim of poaching
Ready for a three-hour walk in the bush, vulnerable yet protected by two rangers.
Elephant
Spotting pairs of eyes in the darkness
We decided to do those we couldn't do on our own and booked a morning walk already from home and a night drive on our arrival to Satara. Both were exciting in their own way. There were not many animals we could see. However, there is lots more you can learn about the bush by observing, reading the signs they leave behind. Especially on the morning walk - we learnt much about the elephant and rhino's habits.

The night drive was no less fun when we were taught how to use the spotting lights, were shouting stop when someone spotted something and were rearing to the right spot. But I was thinking of the animals being blinded or awoken by the lights and didn't like the activity that much for this obvious reason.
