One of the most exciting days in Johannesburg was when visiting shanty town called Soweto and learning about its history and present life.

We saw and learnt many things among which:
Sanibonani means hello in Zulu. This greeting and many other interesting stories and facts we learnt on our day bike tour throughout the township of Soweto. Our guide Linda was a resourceful, respectful, and caring young man.
We heard about past and present life in Soweto, about people's prospects and dreams, about UBUNTU philosophy which surprised us with its strong sense of community, Student's Uprising and role of Afrikaans in the riots against apartheid.
